If aquarium pH is too low for the livestock, test KH first. Low KH means the water has little buffering and can acidify easily. Avoid large one-off doses that create a sudden swing.
A bottle that says 'pH up' changes a number. A good water-chemistry plan changes the conditions that control that number. In many freshwater tanks, low buffering is the real reason pH keeps falling.

Confirm the low pH is actually inappropriate
Soft-water fish may be perfectly suited to a mildly acidic aquarium. Do not raise pH merely to reach 7.0 if the livestock and system are stable.
