Aquarium planning

Sources and references

Where external care and manufacturer context comes from, and how it is kept separate from the site’s own calculations.

Primary external references

The arithmetic on this site is original and independently reproducible. External references are used for husbandry context and manufacturer-specific examples, not copied as replacement content.

How sources are used

A source link supports the part of a page that depends on external knowledge. The site then adds its own calculation, worked example, diagram or decision framework. It does not republish third-party articles or lightly rewrite them.

Stable constants

Metric volume conversion and the definitions of UK imperial and US liquid gallons are mathematical/unit constants rather than editorial claims. They are still shown explicitly so the user can verify which unit system is being used.

Source changes

Manufacturer ranges and care guidance can change. Pages that rely on them should be rechecked periodically, and a broken or superseded source should be corrected rather than silently leaving an outdated claim in place.

Source roles and review discipline

External sources are used only where the page moves beyond pure arithmetic. RSPCA and OATA material supports general fish-welfare and water-quality context. Manufacturer documents support labelled product-specific examples such as heater range bands. Those sources are not copied into the site as substitute articles.

Source links were reviewed for this AdSense rescue on 4 September 2026. If a manufacturer catalogue, welfare page or organisation guidance is replaced, the affected claim should be checked again rather than leaving a dead citation.

Photography and original presentation

The rebuild uses photorealistic aquarium imagery as the primary visual language. Calculations, worked examples, tables and decision frameworks are original publisher content. Images are used to support the subject and improve navigation, not to replace substantive text.
