Calculation principles

The site uses transparent first-principles arithmetic wherever the physical relationship is stable: geometry for volume, multiplication for percentage changes and energy, and component sums for weight. Inputs and formulas are shown so users can reproduce the result independently.

How examples are chosen

Worked examples use round, plausible dimensions so the arithmetic can be checked mentally or with a calculator. They are examples, not recommendations for a specific fish or room. Where a manufacturer range is used, the page identifies the source and labels it as a reference example.

Editorial review

Calculator logic is tested with known inputs, pages are checked for duplicate metadata and thin content, and internal links are crawled before release. Claims that depend on external guidance are linked to the source instead of being presented as home-grown facts.

Corrections

If a formula, constant or source link appears wrong, use the contact page with the page URL and the issue. Corrections should improve the public explanation as well as the code so the methodology stays inspectable.

How calculator behaviour is checked

Every calculator is tested with known inputs and a result that can be reproduced independently. Unit conversions use fixed constants. Display rounding happens after the calculation. Scenario inputs such as displacement allowance, filter turnover or heater duty cycle remain visible so the user can change them rather than receiving a hidden recommendation.

Where a tool uses external product context rather than pure arithmetic, the page labels that distinction and links the source. Heater sizing is the clearest example: the calculator presents a manufacturer-reference band rather than pretending the band is a universal physical law.
